Getting set up

Teach Howdy about your business

Howdy answers in your business’s voice using what you give it. The more it knows about your hours, services, and prices, the more calls it can finish on its own, and the fewer get bounced back to you.

What to give Howdy

Write it the way you would tell a brand new front desk hire. Plain language is perfect.

  • Your hours and the days you are open or closed.
  • The services you offer, and the ones you do not.
  • Price ranges, starting prices, or how you quote.
  • Your service area, address, and parking or arrival notes.
  • The questions you answer ten times a day, with the answers you would give.
  • Anything a caller commonly asks that you want handled a certain way.

Where to add it

In your portal, open Settings → Knowledge and type it in. You do not need any special format, just write it out. When you save, Howdy uses the update on its very next call, so you can improve answers in real time.

Change how Howdy sounds

Voice

Under Settings → Voice you can choose the voice Howdy uses. Whatever you pick, Howdy stays warm and natural, never robotic. Voice changes also take effect on the next call.

How it handles tricky calls

You can give Howdy guidance for specific situations, for example always offer to book, never give a firm quote over the phone, or send urgent calls straight to a human. Set this in your portal and Howdy follows it from the next call onward.

Howdy gave a wrong answer?

Open that call in your portal and flag it. Then update the matching detail in Knowledge so Howdy gets it right every time after. The more you correct, the sharper it gets.
